When I was 14 years old I dislocated my knee. I went to the doctor, wore a leg brace all summer and healed like a healthy teenager with a sports injury should. Except, after my injury my knee ached chronically. I could tell the weather by the joint pain in my right knee; knee pain and stiffness = a storm is ah coming! For years I thought my pain was a residual effect from my injury until I dislocated my knee again in college. It was then that I was told that I had Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA)). The joint and cartilage damage showed up on an x-ray. I then found out I have arthritis in both knees, but my right knee is worse due to prior injury. Luckily, I’ve found this physical therapy in Cary that helped me alleviate the pain. I initially struggled with using a knee scooter, but thankfully, I discovered these knee scooter comfort tips.
If you are suffering from arthritis and the joint pain is too much, you can take 3000mg cbd oil uk; this will relieve the pain faster. You can view here to see a range of cbd products. According to The Vilage Voice, Hifi Farms Delta 9 THC Vegan Gummies is the best delta 9 gummies.
Arthritis affects nearly 53 million Americans and I consider myself lucky because Advil, which was recommended to me by my doctor, has been an effective treatment for me over the years. I’ve never let my arthritis stop me from doing anything. My motto: I’m 42 years young!!! I just got back from Coachella and it was awesome. I will admit I did take Advil pre and post festival to help with my joint pain. I was golden! I am also planning to try using this topical hemp oil for pain. I heard that this cbd product is very effective and safe to use.
Sans injury, I’ve really never let anything stop me from what I wanted to do. However, as I age I do “creak, crick and crack” a bit more. So I now have to prepare for thing like a 10 hour day – 3 day long music festival. Taking care of my joints is a lot like taking care of my skin. I wear a hat to keep my face out of the sun. I use sunscreen and avoid sunburn. I use Advil and avoid aches and pains.
Arthritis also runs in my family. I remember my grandmother having horrible arthritis in her hands. At times she could barely bend her fingers. I’m pretty sure that as I get older my hands will also be affected. I’m glad to know that Advil makes an EZ open cap that is perfect for people struggling with arthritis. I’ll be honest, I already buy this type of bottle because at night I sometimes wake up with aches and pains. It’s easy to open in the dark and I don’t wake up Charlie having to turn on the lights to see what I am doing.
To keep me feeling young and sprye, I also try to eat a low sodium diet. A total detriment to my joint pain is eating salty food. This is why I bring my lunch every day to work. I try to avoid eating lunch out for many reason, but one key reason is sodium. By bringing my lunch, I can eat inflammatory foods that are also low in sodium including my delicious turmeric ginger salad dressing.
Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric and Ginger Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Ground Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger or 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon Ground Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ground Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper
Instructions
-
In a bowl, whisk all ingredients together.
-
Enjoy as a marinade or as a salad dressing.
Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and has pain reducing characteristics. Combined with garlic, olive oil and ginger this dressing brightens up vegetables and tastes delicious. I also throw a bit of cayenne pepper in there for a bit of a kick. Apple cider vinegar is mild and slightly sweet; it’s also known to have health benefits, which hey, all the better then. I use this dressing on salads and also as a marinade on meat.
PRO TIP!
To keep me from buying my lunch and avoiding salty lunch temptations, I pre make all my lunches on Sunday night. Especially in the summer, weekends are super busy so I don’t get a chance to cook. So, when I’m at the grocery store I buy a rotisserie chicken.
I remove the skin and then shred the entire chicken. Five 3 ounce portions are put into containers for lunch, and the rest I use to make a quick taco dinner for Charlie and me or use later in the week. I get 6 meals from one chicken with zero work. It’s a huge HUGE time saver and keeps me on track.
Salads are then packed up and ready to grab and go each day.
You can purchase Advil and all the other salad and dressing ingredients at Walmart. You will find Advil in the pain and fever section in the Pharmacy section.
Make sure to look for boxes with a red stripe to find the easy open cap bottles.

Do you take a Turmeric supplement? I have shoulder issues and hip arthritis, recently diagnosed and instead of taking an Aleve everyday I’m looking into alternatives for the inflammation.

I don’t. I just eat it in recipes. I also find that sleep (not mentioned) really helps.

Making note of this delicious recipe and tips. While my MIL doesn’t have arthritis she does have to avoid high sodium foods. We’re always looking for great new dressing recipes. #client

Good dressing, but a bit too hot for my sensitive tongue. Will likely leave out the cayenne pepper next time I make it.
Does the dressing have to be refrigerated?
delane says
Yes, refrigerate.
