Chicken wings are one of those foods that I rarely order in a restaurant. First, they are pretty unhealthy. And second, when I do decide to indulge, good wings are hard to find. Dry, not enough heat, greasy are common reasons why chicken wings never live up to my standards. The other week I had a a craving for wings and since restaurant wings are hit or miss I decided to make some at home.
Trying to cut fat and calories but not sacrifice flavor I forgo the breeding and par cooked the wings in a pan to crisp the skin. Then I finished them under the broiler to add smokey charbroiled flavors.
I love how the wings turned out. They were crispy and super moist. I used schezwan sauce for spicy hot wings and then upped the flavor in my low fat butter milk dressing by adding fresh grated ginger. The dressing total makes this dish. It not only cools the heat of the wings but the ginger adds big flavor to the dish. If you’re looking to indulge but still keep fat and calories in check I highly recommend these wings.
