I’ve gotta say that smoothies in the winter are normally not my thing. Smoothies are cold, the air is cold, I hate being cold therefore I normally reserve them for warmer months. But everyone once in a blue moon I get a hankering for a smoothie. Okay actually I get a hankering for a milkshake but opt for a more nutritious version of the frosty cold drink. I find that in the winter enjoy adding spicy warm flavors to my smoothies. I really enjoy how the vanilla compliments the juicy cherries giving it body and a bit of complexity without adding a ton of calories.
If I’m going to go healthy I might as well go all in so I use cherry pomegranate juice for an extra boost of antioxidants. The tiny bit of honey adds sweetness but not a ton of sugar . The base is Almond Coconut milk which I find adds extra creaminess.
