When I think of Nashville, Tennessee images of BBQ, Honky Tonk and Jamborees flood my mind. A hot cup of freshly roasted, perfectly brewed coffee? not in a million years. That was until I visited the memorable Crema Coffee -and wow- I was blown away.
Before I begin to talk about the coffee, I have to make mention of the coffee shop because it is as gorgeous as the coffee served. Built by the owners, Rachel and Ben, an old diesel engine repair shop is now fashioned with a carved reclaimed lumber bar where coffee is graciously served by attentive and knowledgeable staff. Club chairs in an eclectic setting make sipping a well balanced cup of Crema as relaxing as an hour long Swedish massage.
I ordered a Campamento Alto, Guatemala. It hit every note the tasting card suggested – Honey Crisp Apple, Maple Syrup, Dark Chocolate. It was bright and sweet with a creamy warmness to it. I don’t think I’ve had such a great cup of coffee since my visit to Tim Wendelboe in Oslo, Norway.
Cream coffee sources their beans directly from farmers which they now roast in house. You can taste the love and passion put into each cup of coffee they pour and every bean they sell. Now when I think of Nashville, Tennessee I not only think of BBQ, Honky Tonk and Jamborees but I also think of Coffee, a cup of coffee from Crema Coffee Roasters.
Crema Coffee is located at 15 Hermitage Ave., Nashville, TN 37204.
