Let’s face it, time is a constant and none of us are getting any younger. Every second of every day we all get older. Do I miss my boobs circa 1990, you betcha. Would I want to relive high school. No F’ing (my mom reads my blog) way!
When I think about it, it is pretty awesome to be turning 40.
I’m alive!!!!
I have loving people in my life. I have the worlds most awesome dog. I have a roof over my head and a job. I need for nothing and want for very few things.
This week I biked 28 miles back and forth to work. I woke up the next day and other than being a bit sore from being out of shape, I feet great.
40 is just a number, based on a date on a piece of paper your parents received from the government when you were born. I don’t wish that I was 19, 29 or 39. What I wish for is a great tomorrow.

Well said Delane… we are all heading in that direction.
You don’t get older, you just get better!
Hope you had a good one 🙂

What a lovely post. I’m 40 today and had an early party in the form of a family in Turkey, we got back a couple of days ago, which was great. I made peace with myself under the stars smoking a very expensive chohiba cigar and a tall glass of since juice. Being Muslim I don’t drink.
I’m so grateful for all I have done, achieved and have planned. Over the last few years I spent all my time building a business until it dawned on me that I don’t have any hobbies any more. I made a commitment to learn a new skill every year since and created a wish list which I am working through. I’ve ticked off skiing, snowboarding, learning to ride a motorcycle, annual family holiday, archery, a martial art and swimming and each year threw myself in to each activity.
I’m very grateful for what the All Mighty has blessed me with, a lovely family, friends, health, business, challenges, victories, losses, fun and frolics. I have a great 40 years and look forward to the wonders and amazement to come.
Happy birthday to all those that are 40 today. God bless

Happy (belated) birthday! I think I saw you on the sidewalk downtown one day recently. I think you were wearing kelly green. I tried to say hi, but we were going in opposite directions.
