Over the past month I have been working to get my eating back on track by eating healthy foods 90% of the time. Eating healthy comes pretty easy for me unless I am out in the wild. Restaurant eating is hard. And for me, it is often extra hard because I want to order everything on the menu. One of the most helpful changes I have made this month is to cook at home during the week. Ordering takeout Pad Thai on a Tuesday is never a good thing for me and it was becoming a particular problem for my ass. By just changing what I was eating, cooking dinner every night and taking leftovers for lunch I have lost 4 lbs.
It is amazing how a simple change like cooking at home can have such a big impact on my body. I sleep better, poop better, look better and overall just feel better.
I have always been an advocate of making changes that fit a persons lifestyle. Not everyone wants to or can cook every day. I get that. But I think the key to weight loss is making positive changes.
For you maybe it is swapping out your LARGE Cafeteria cookie at 3 pm with your coffee with cream and sugar for a cup of green tea, an apple and 1 graham cracker (with cinnamon and sugar of course). Or maybe it’s having a salad instead of fries with your lunch. Or maybe it’s having a burger with lettuce, tomato and onion instead of cheese and bacon. Or maybe it’s having Greek yogurt with a little honey and fresh strawberries instead of Strawberry Ice Cream.
Small changes add up.

Nice job on the 4lbs. I am trying to make cooking a habit at home too. I have become so lazy and it is just easier to go out.

I was in a takeout rut for all of March. This month I started cooking most nights again and I feel so much better. Bonus for the health and wallet benefits! Nice job w/ the 4lbs.
