When I was in Puerto Rico I visited the Barcardi Factory and there I learned to make a perfect Mojito. Mojito’s are THE PERFECT SUMMER COCKTAIL! Really there is nothing more delightful than sitting in the sun on a warm summer day and sipping Mojito. Well maybe.. sitting in the sun at a pool on warm summer day with a cabana boy fanning me while sipping a Mojio.
Despite the cold temperatures currently in Chicago (seriously, some needs to fire that damn groundhog) I’ve been craving this summer drink. So I’m sitting on here on my balcony, I’ve cranked up the BBQ and in my parka , the sun is out and I’m sipping a Mojito!
Ingredients:
2 parts White Rum (BACARDI or your favorite brand)
12 fresh mint leaves
1/2 lime in wedges
2 tablespoons simple syrup or sugar
Club Soda
Crushed Ice
Sprig of fresh mint to garnish
makes one drink
Directions:
In a glass, Muddle 12 fresh mint leaves and 1/2 lime. Add 2 tablespoons simple syrup or sugar; top with ice. Add Rum and top with club soda. Stir well and garnish with a sprig of mint and lime.
