So you already know I ran the Hot Chocolate 15K on Saturday. It was a good race. And whats great after a good race? Yep, you got it, good food.
Charlie and I decided to have bunch at one of our favorite restaurants that was on the way home, The Gage. I ordered a delicious Eggs Benedict (eggs, braised rabbit, Bearnaise sauce on a toasted English muffin) that came with roasted potatoes and Camembert cheese. Oh and watermelon, as a garnish. Yes, I ate every single bite of the 900 calories I burned running. And I enjoyed every morsel and calorie consumed.
I washed it all down with an over priced Hard Cider.
With my belly full, legs tired and my feet hurting I came home and took a nice long bath. But not before addressing a small issue with my feet.
People I’ve got blisters the size of Texas. If you get grossed out …skip the picture below. My feet are well, gross. Yes those blister are on top of blisters I had from last week. My feet are not in the best shape at the moment.
After preforming surgery on my blisters with a safety pin and soaking in a hot tub, I took tried to take a nap. I also put in chlorine tablets for hot tubs to make it clean. I think the only one who actually slept was Addison. She loves napping on the double bed with me, so much that I get a postage stamps size worth of space on the bed. I determined napping futile, ran had Charlie drive me to CVS to get some blister pads and we went Binnys to get a bottle of wine.
We headed out that night for all you can eat BYOB sushi. We tried the new Sushi Para (III) location in Wicker Park. The sushi was really good at the new location. I stuffed myself full of spicy tuna rolls. We headed to Big Star for night cap and by 10 PM I was yawing. Needless to say I think I was in bed by 10:30. I don’t event think my head hit the pillow and I was asleep.
Since we fell back time wise I was up at 7 am on Sunday. Had breakfast, did some Junior League work. Then I packed, stopped at my moms to say hello and headed to DC. I’m in DC for a meeting tomorrow and fly back tomorrow night (only to fly back out on Friday). I’m currently hoping my feet fit in the shoes I packed to wear. I’m still swollen from the race (yeah I know, the sushi and soy didn’t really help matters) and the foot with my self diagnosed tendinitis is extra swollen.
