I’ve decided to drop the Rockford 1/2. I really want to improve my pace this year. I proved that I can trek though a 1/2 but I didn’t make the time that I wanted. So now I want to get serious with setting some time goals. So I put this schedule together. Its broken out into 3 nine week chunks. First 9 weeks, building back my base to 5-6 miles of running. The Second 9 weeks, working on speed, the last 9 weeks training for the Soldier Field 10 miler. Its not a super hard schedule 3/4 days of running depending on the week. During the bitter cold of December and January only 3 days a week since I’ll be on the track at the gym most days. I’ll admit it, I’m a woos, I don’t like running in the Chicago Cold and Wind. Though I have vowed to do one run a month outside with Nicole. I also have to figure out a way to make up 30 miles for the Winter Blues Challenge. I see some race pace walking on my running days off in my future.
Well I guess I need to get running
My ankles are just about back to normal. Yeah! So next week I’m going to give the running a go. I have put together what seems to be a decent schedule that will take me to the Soldier Field 10 miler in May of 09.
So here it is.

I just picked up some layers for out cold Chicago outdoor runs… Dear God, what are we doing going out there in that cold?!?
Your schedule looks great… I need to set one of those up for myself because I finish my program on Sunday and then I have to figure out what to do with myself!
Good luck getting your running legs back, and I hope your ankles are all healed up.

Hope your ankles are good. Good for a schedule. I need one.
I couldn’t run in Chicago in the winter…My face would freeze.

Great plan!
I don’t mind running in the cold, but I think you have it a bit worse than I do down here. The wind is what gets ya.
