Today is World Health Day and this year the focus is Antimicrobial resistance and its global spread. In layman terms, the focus is on preventing and countering the emergence of highly resistant microorganisms. When infections caused by resistant microorganisms fail to respond to standard drug treatments, including antibiotics and other medicines it typically results in prolonged illness and greater risk of death.
Working in the healthcare industry, I thought I’d share that little nugget of information first, because I think its important and second, because I just like to say the word antimicrobial.
Go on say it out loud….Anti-mi-cro-bi-al. Fun
The opposite of diarrhea. I hate that word. Its like a razor blade to my ears.
Are there words you like to say? Words that make you want to stick a hot flaming sword though your eardrum?
